Filipino Innovation Readiness & Entrepreneurship
FAQsOur mission is to unlock the potential and capacity of every Filipino-Canadian entrepreneur by providing culturally-relevant support, mentorship, and skill-building opportunities for capital readiness and a thriving entrepreneurial community.
❋ Does it cost anything to participate? It is completely free to join. All we need is your commitment for the nine weeks.
❋ Do I get funding?FIRE makes you ready for capital and you'll have a defensible ask with valuation logic behind it. At the end of the program, we are providing up to $10K funding in value for one founder.
❋ Do I need to be Filipino? The founder or a member of the founding team must identify as Filipino or of Filipino descent. 1st, 2nd, or 3rd generation Filipinos all count equally.
❋ How much time does this actually take?5-8 hours a week for nine weeks, roughly 2-3 hours in the room, 3-4 hours on your own, and 1-2 hours with your Executive-in-Residence. Plus ideally attending the Community Clinic and Demo Day. You must attend at least 6 of the 9 weeks of the program.
❋ How many spots are there and what if I don’t get one?Ten spots are available. If you’re not selected, we’ll tell you why, and you stay on the list for Cohort 2.
❋ This is the first cohort. Why should I trust it?Fair. Cohort 1 is the first of its kind, but this is what makes it your own. What is has: 9 weeks built from what founders in this community told us directly, a bench of operators and professionals who’ve done it before, and 10 spots to keep it focused and dedicated.
